Indian Green Building Council

Dear All,

Greetings from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)!

I am pleased to inform you that today 'World Wetlands Day' is being celebrated across the globe.

Wetlands are a great resource for economic, scientific, cultural, and recreational value for the community. They play a vital role in climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Loss of wetlands causes serious and irreparable damage to the ecosystem. They are important to the existence of nature and mankind.

This reminds us about the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, called the Ramsar Convention that provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.

IGBC is facilitating the preservation and restoration of wetlands in India by adopting a multi-pronged strategy through green building rating programmes, workshops, conferences, training programmes on green building concepts, green building congress and missions.

Looking forward to your continued support in India's sustainable development.

We also request you to please visit http://www.wetlandsofindia.org/ to know more information on wetlands of India.

With kind regards,
